CanadaGAP is a food safety program designed to help implement and maintain effective food safety procedures for companies implementing Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) in their production, storage and packing operations and for repackers and wholesalers implementing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and HACCP programs. The program is also designed for fresh produce brokers implementing best practices in supplier management and product traceability.

CanadaGAP has received full Canadian Government Recognition, and is benchmarked to and officially recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). For more information about the program and how to become certified visit www.canadagap.ca.

How to become certified

Obtain a commodity-specific CanadaGAP manual.

Start implementing your program.

Complete the enrolment form, select MSVS as your certification body.

Audit Add-Ons
To address market demands, the CanadaGAP Addendum for Pollinator Health and the Costco Produce Addendums can be completed in conjunction with the CanadaGAP on-site audit.

This is an optional add-on checklist for certification options C and E.
The addendum has been approved by the IPM Institute of North America as meeting Walmart requirements for protection of pollinator health.
